Tour details

Pickup with local guide at the Ashgabat International Airport. Transfer to the hotel for accommodation and rest. Ashgabat City Tour: visit main tourists’ attraction in the capital: Independence monument, Neutrality Arch, Earthquake monument, Ertogrul Gazi mosque and Gulistan bazaar (Russian bazaar). Night tour, driving along the main streets of Ashgabat making stop near Palace of Happiness for stunning evening views of the city.

After breakfast, visit Old Nisa, the ancient sanctuary of the Parthian kings and a UNESCO World Heritage site, dating from the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD. Then drive to Darvaza-Gas crater which is a huge flaming crater. On the way stop to see the village Bahardok observe the rural life of Turkmen people. Continue with moving to the Water, Clay and Gas Crater. In the evening camping, enjoy the spectacular and fascinating view of the gas crater.

After breakfast, drive to Ashgabat city. Upon arrival accommodate at the hotel. Visit the Horse-farm for exploring the pride of the Turkmen people - Akhal-Teke horses. Traditional tea break, short Akhal Teke horse show program and seeing the racks of horses. Visiting the Turkmen Traditional Alabay dogs farm. Visit “Gypjak” Mosque and Mausoleum of the first President of Turkmenistan.

After breakfast, drive to Mary upon arrival a brief city tour, including the local market, city center, and other notable sights. Continue to the Historical Park of Ancient Merv, a major hub on the Silk Road. Explore key landmarks with a guided tour, including Gyz Gala, Erk Gala, Soltan Gala, the Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar, Ashby, Yusup-Hamadani, and the Ibn Zeid Mausoleum. Conclude the day with a visit to the Museum of History.

After breakfast, drive to Turkmenabat city. Upon arrival transfer to Farap/Alat border to cross to Uzbekistan where our guide will meet you on the Uzbek side of the post. From Farab we drive you to Bukhara (121 km / approximately 2 hours), one of the longest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage site. After hotel check-in and rest, your guide collects you in the late afternoon for a gentle introduction to the old town. You walk to the Lyab-i-Hauz ensemble, the central plaza built around a 17th-century reservoir and framed by the Kukeldash Madrasah and the Khanaka and Madrasah of Nadir Divan-Begi. Mulberry trees several centuries old shade the pool. Dinner is served at a traditional restaurant on the square (own arrangement, recommendations provided).

The day is given to Bukhara's old town. The tour begins at the Ismail Samani Mausoleum in Samanid Park, the oldest standing structure in Bukhara. From there you continue to the Chashma Ayub Mausoleum and the Bolo-Hauz Mosque, the former Friday mosque of the emirs. After lunch (own arrangement), the tour resumes at Po-i-Kalyan square: the Kalyan Minaret rising 47 metres, the Kalyan Mosque opposite, and the working Mir-i Arab Madrasah. The day ends in the domed bazaars - Toki Sarrafon, Toki Telpak Furushon, and Toki Zargaron.

After breakfast, transfer from Bukhara to Samarkand by road (250 km, approximately 4 hours). Upon arrival, begin a city tour of Samarkand. Visit Registan, the central square of Timurid Samarkand. Three madrasahs frame the plaza: the Ulugh Beg Madrasah; the Sher-Dor Madrasah; and the Tilya-Kori Madrasah on the northern side. You enter all three. The tour continues to the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, the Friday mosque.

A second day in Samarkand for the city's major sites that the previous afternoon could not cover. The morning begins at Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis, a narrow alley of tilework that holds tombs of Timurid royalty and the supposed grave of Qusam ibn Abbas. The tour continues to the Gur-e-Amir, the mausoleum. Then visit the Ulugh Beg Observatory ruins on the city's northern edge, the remains of a 15th-century astronomical instrument that allowed Ulugh Beg to calculate the year length to within one minute of the modern figure. The afternoon is free for the Siyob Bazaar behind Bibi-Khanym, or independent exploration of the old town. After we transfer you to Samarkand railway station for the Afrosiyob train to Tashkent (18:15-20:30 or 18:49-21:04 2hrs 10m). On arrival you check in to your hotel and rest.

After breakfast, start a city tour exploring the traditional and cultural heart of Tashkent.Visit Khast Imam Complex — the most important religious center in Tashkent. Explore Barak-Khan Madrasah, a beautiful Islamic school with traditional architecture and local crafts. Walk through Chorsu Bazaar. Visit Kukeldash Madrasah, one of the oldest madrasahs in Tashkent. The sightseeing tour will end with an excursion to the Museum of Applied Art of Uzbekistan.

Discover the modern, Soviet-era, and contemporary side of the city. Start at Amir Timur Square, the main square of the city with a statue of Amir Timur. Visit the Amir Timur Museum and learn about the history of the Timurid Empire. Walk along Broadway Alley Tashkent, a popular pedestrian street with artists, cafes, and souvenirs. Explore Independence Square, the largest square in Uzbekistan, symbolizing independence. Visit the Tashkent Metro, famous for its beautiful and uniquely designed stations. Relax at Magic City Park or take a walk in Tashkent City Park.
After breakfast, transfer to Airport for your departure.
