Farap Border Crossing & Ancient Merv
Arrive at Farap border on the Uzbek-Turkmen frontier. Your guide will meet you after customs clearance and transfer you to the ancient city of Merv.Explore the UNESCO World Heritage ruins of Merv — once the largest city in the world. Ashgabat to Darvaza Gas Crater
Drive north into the vast Karakum Desert, stopping at a local Turkmen village for chai and bread baked in a tamdyr oven.Arrive at the Darvaza Gas Crater by late afternoon. Set up camp in traditional yurts overlooking the fiery crater.As darkness falls, witness the otherworldly glow of the "Door to Hell." Enjoy a BBQ dinner under a canopy of stars.
Departure via Dashoguz Border
Wake early for a final sunrise view of the crater. After breakfast, drive to Dashoguz.Transfer to the Dashoguz–Uzbek border crossing. Your guide will assist with exit formalities. Farewell and onward journey.
